After a period of 2 years, I travelled to China for the whole of March in 2012. Before fulfilling my commitment to the family of Huo in GuangZhou, I went to my hometown to complete some property contract procedures. Following that, I visited JiangNan’s five major cities; Shanghai, Wuxi, NanJing, SuZhou and HangZhou’s west lake. Before returning to HuaNan, I stopped over at GuangZhou and YangShuo for a few nights. During this period, as a bystander, I scanned through the story of China. Through China’s current rapid progress, there had been changes where the food is much tastier, more emerge of luxury houses and involved residence are much richer. Of course I cannot experience the disparity in the underclass, however, I discovered many of China’s native habits remain unchanged. Here, the details of creating the “Image of China” was always a familiar characteristic of China – I have no right to state my opinions or demonstrate any of my concerns. Ever since birth, the only freedom I have is wandering around.

6. Returning to my hometown, young people with temperament cannot be seen on the streets, there are only outsiders and the middle-aged bustling on the streets. Outstanding youth from first-tier cities are disappearing to developed countries such as Europe/AUS/NZ, so the youth from second-tier cities are flocking to these front-line cities, and those of third and fourth line cities occupy vacated positions of the second-tier. Lastly, those of rural areas all go to these third/fourth tier cities, leaving the countryside with only children and the elderly. Consequently, numerous cities are populated with countless ‘useless degenerate youths’ (who do not study, work or commit crimes), but become males and females who quietly nest at home day after day until they age. I do not understand why after decades of reform and opening up, the Chinese government are still not inclined to and invest and create policy in rural and small urban areas. Furthermore, there is no focus on building a strong technical training base. The majority of development of the region has not developed well, so the rural areas and small cities hover around infantilism. Young adults are unwilling to develop their career in their own hometown and small urban cities, thus flock big cities to compete with locals in limited resources. In fact, many strangers do not find a standing in big cities. Plazas and channels are filled with bored people blindly hesitant standing, who completely neglect the bustling pedestrians around them. They are focused on fiddling with their phones, whilst their bodies collide with busy passerby’s. Big cities are becoming increasing crowded and chaotic, with smaller cities and foreigners becoming more stressed due to lack of ability to adapt in the capital leading tem to suffer with an increase in the cost of living. Under such system with such dominant values, the culture of hoarsely singing patriotism and fillialism is just a contrary performance.
